The morning session will focus on "Drying Lumber with a Solar Dry Kiln" which will introduce all the principals of drying hardwood and softwood lumber in a solar dry kiln. The investment and operating costs of a solar dry kiln are minimal when compared to the cost of custom kiln drying and is perfect for the wood hobbyist or small furniture maker The afternoon session will focus on "Business Management Issues in the Wood Products Industry" and will benefit anyone wanting to learn new trends and contemporary business management issues. Specific issues in marketing, lean thinking, business strategy and the role of innovation in the wood products industry will be discussed.
